Myth:
Hebrew Idioms,
Hebraic Idioms, Hebrew
Mindset, and a Hebraic Mindset are
Necessary for Understanding the Scriptures
|
Feb 24, 2010 |
 |
Myth:
Zechariah 8:23 states that 10 men will take hold of a
Jew, which means that the gentiles will return to the
"ancient paths" and keep Torah by grabbing hold of a
Messianic person who understands that we must keep the
Law/Torah; and who has the "Hebraic mind-set" in order
to correctly understand the Scriptures. The Messianics
are really (Gentiles in most cases claiming to be) Jews who are Israelites of the House of
Israel aka Ephraimites, who are actually part of the
"lost" tribes and are Torah observant.

Clarity will comes through word studies and research
with books like Hebrew dictionaries and lexicons. By
recognizing Hebrew idioms and learning the differences
between modern translations, bad translations and
humanism., which muddle our understanding, but learning
the ancient Hebrew language, is just the start to really
studying the scriptures. We also need to learn the
Hebrew culture.

Scriptures |
|
 |
Myth.

Myth:
Khaboris Codex Aramaic Peshitta
New Testament Manuscript (Khabouris Codex) has come under harsh
attack by the Greek primacists because they are fearful
that the authority of the Greek Scriptures may be
undermined. The Khabouris Manuscript proves Aramaic
primacy of the NT manuscripts.
|
Feb

 |
Myth.
Jesus and
the apostles quoted exclusively from the Old Testament,
and the New Testament writings were just meant to be
letters, and were never to be
considered Scripture. Therefore our doctrine must first
come from the Law of Moses. The New Testament is merely
discussing the Old Testament and is not Scripture
inspired by God like the OT.

Myth:
Paul never wrote the book of Romans. It says
right in your Bible that Paul never wrote the book of
Romans, he dictated it to Tertius. |
Feb 24, 2010 |
 |
Myth.
The issue with the
camel and the eye of the needle is not an idiom but a
bad translation, in which the word "large rope" should
have been used. This ‘opens up a whole new can of
worms,’ as a separate issue of mistranslating the texts
by pagan Greeks and the need to search for the truth.

Under
the Law |
|
 |
Myth:
The handwriting of ordinances
in Col 2:14 refer to the oral law or oral Torah,
also known as the Talmud. The oral law is inferred
in the NT in other of Paul's writings, like
Galatians, which is the correct understanding of
"under the Law" |

|
Myth:
Christians are
antinomians because they don't keep the Sabbath on Saturday and
therefore violate Torah.
|
Feb
6, 2010 |
|
|
Myth.
We need to
keep the Sabbath, as part of the commandments, and to not do so
means we are lawless or "anti-nomian". |
Feb
6, 2010 |
 |
Myth
Acts 15 tells us that we
are to learn and keep the law of Moses and that Gentiles who
convert can start with just the basic list, but should become
fully obedient to the law over time as they grow spiritually.
|
Feb
6, 2010 |
 |
Myth.
We are
under the law of Torah or Law of Moses, because Jesus said in
Matthew 5:17-19 that He didn't come to destroy the law
and heaven and earth haven't passed away, therefore we must follow it over pagan Christian
teachings. |
Feb

|
Did Jesus bring a New Torah
with the New Covenant? |
|
 |
Myth.
We need to
keep all the Biblical feasts or Jewish celebrations and eat kosher food in order to be Torah observant
(keep the law) and obedient
and show we belong to God.
|
Feb
6, 2010 |
 |
Myth.
The Vision of the Sheet
which Peter had, found in Acts 10, refers strictly to people, and
does not include food like Christians believe. We are to keep
kosher, and not eat certain foods because that violates Torah. |
